Council of Audit Professionals

Purpose:

The Council of Audit Professionals is established to support, develop, and elevate the audit profession by advocating for excellence in audit practices, increasing professional development, and promoting ethical and sustainable audit strategies. Its purpose is to empower audit professionals to add value to their organizations and contribute to economic and social objectives through effective audit.

Objectives:

  • Professional Development: To provide audit professionals with access to continuous learning opportunities, including training workshops, certification programs, seminars, and webinars covering strategic sourcing, contract management, negotiation, ethical audit, and sustainability.
  • Best Practice Sharing: To facilitate the exchange of best practices, innovative solutions, and emerging trends in audit, enabling professionals to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and transparency in audit processes.
  • Ethical and Sustainable Procurement: To promote ethical standards and sustainable audit practices, emphasizing the importance of social responsibility, environmental stewardship, and economic efficiency in audit decisions.

Waqas Khalid

Muhammad Waqas Khalid is a renowned audit professional with over 20 years of experience in auditing, accounting, and tax consulting. As a Chartered Accountant (CA) and Chartered Management Accountant (CMA), he is affiliated with prestigious institutions including the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP), Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan (ICMAP), and the Institute of Chartered Management Professionals (ICMP, USA). He is also a proud member of the House of Professionals (HOP), further showcasing his commitment to professional development and excellence.

In 2006, Mr. Khalid founded Waqas & Co. Chartered Accountants, a firm delivering audit, accounting, and tax services to private and public sector organizations. The firm serves a diverse range of clients across various sectors, including healthcare, textiles, education, hospitality, and transportation, showcasing his extensive expertise and adaptability in addressing industry-specific needs.

Mr. Khalid actively contributes to professional and civic initiatives, holding honorary memberships with the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Multan Chamber of Commerce & Industry, and Multan Tax Bar Association. He has served on key boards and committees of ICAP, ICMA, and HOP reflecting his dedication to the profession.

With his technical expertise, leadership, and unwavering commitment to excellence, Muhammad Waqas Khalid is a respected figure in the auditing and financial consultancy sectors, known for delivering value to his clients and contributing to the broader professional community.

Muhammad Shoaib

Muhammad Shoaib, a seasoned audit and financial management professional, brings extensive expertise in internal auditing, financial controls, and management reporting. With a Chartered Management Accountant (CMA) certification from ICMA Pakistan, he is also a Certified Director under the CCG Rules 2019.

Shoaib’s career highlights his robust experience in establishing and leading internal audit departments, developing risk-based audit plans, and designing efficient internal controls. His tenure includes pivotal roles in organizations like Gourmet Foods, Hussain Mills Limited, and H.A. Fibres Private Limited, where he demonstrated excellence in streamlining financial systems, ensuring compliance with policies, and optimizing operational efficiency.
Throughout his career, Muhammad has demonstrated expertise in risk assessment, financial reporting, and compliance auditing. He is adept at leading audit teams, conducting thorough audits, and presenting insightful findings to stakeholders. His strong analytical skills and ethical standards have earned him recognition and respect within the professional community.

Muhammad Shoaib is also a Fellow Member of the Institute of Cost & Management Accountants of Pakistan and an Associate Member of the Pakistan Institute of Public Finance Accountants. He is actively engaged with professional bodies and is a proud member of the House of Professionals, reflecting his commitment to continuous learning and knowledge sharing in the financial and auditing domain.
